From Frederiksdorp you leave on foot, by bike or by boat to explore the district of Commewijne. A district that is rich in history, culture, biodiversity, and adventure. Learn about the region’s rich history, meet friendly locals from the surrounding villages and experience the many cultures and traditions.
Go on magical cruises through the wetlands and discover the hidden lotus valley, visit various other museums such as the Museum Bakkie or the Fort Nieuw-Amsterdam, cycle eastwards past various plantations, sluices and canals, and sail to the Matapica beach at sunset to see giant sea turtles nesting in the shores, a unique natural phenomenon that can only be seen in few places in the world.
The resort features a restaurant that offers delicious, varied meals as well as a cocktail bar with many signature drinks. The restaurant is located in the former 20th-century police station and is surrounded by historic buildings and colorful flowers. Our kitchen is culturally diverse with strong Javanese and Hindustani influences. On the menu you will find many local dishes, as well as western dishes such as salads, pastas, soups and various vegetarian items. It is also possible to put together a custom menu catered to your own preferences. The kitchen mainly works with products from the region that are prepared with care.
The resort also features a large pool surrounded by palm trees and the garden. Here, guests can also enjoy their meals and beverages.
Frederiksdorp offers several on-property rentals, such as bicycles, paddle boards, rafts and fishing rods; perfect for independent exploration.
